Latest reviews of Calgary Herald ePaper app for iPhone and iPad

Fix this app
In dire need of a lot of tweaking. Expensive and not very reliable. Will not be renewing my subscription.
Sorta works
I didnt think I would have to deal with delivery issues with an electronic Newspaper. Auto download doesnt work. Neither does auto remove. Smart zoom should be renamed to stupid zoom. There hasnt been an update to this app sine June 2013, are they still working on it? I dont think so. This app should be used as a case study in how not to deploy an electronic edition of a newspaper.
Do not update to this version
I had been using the older version for months with no serious issues. This recent update is very flawed. So bad that I had to retro-grade to the previous one. Be warned.
Needs some fine tuning
The app produces a good online version of the print edition but needs some re-programming. Moving from page to page sometimes stalls and more important the app doesnt give back all the memory used, even when daily editions are deleted. Ive had to delete and reinstall the app several times to recover the memory. More of a hassle if you have a smaller memory. Otherwise still my favourite way to read the Herald, particularly when away from Calgary.
Calgary Herald App for iPad
Worst app I have used. I have a new iPad Air2 and when I download the app it appears in Newsstand fine. However once I sign in on the app, it will not let me download the latest issue unless I pay. I pay $30 a month for full access to the Herald. I called the Herald help line twice. They were no help. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app twice. Did not help. The de authorized and re authorized the download for the latest issue. Did not help. I did a hard reset on my iPad and reinstalled the app. Did not help. Not a happy Camper !
